1. Allowance for poor pregnant women:
Conditions for receiving allowance:
(A) First or second gestation (any one time)
(B) Age 20 years or above
(C) Total monthly income below Rs. 1500 / =
(D) Poor disabled will get priority.
(E) has only settled house or lives in another place.
(F) There is no agricultural land or pond for fish farming in one's own family.
(G) The beneficiary must be pregnant in July.
Whether the above conditions are right or not is selected by the NGO representative through a meeting through the upazila committee. The allowance is paid to the beneficiary four times at the rate of Rs. 2100 / - every six months.
2. Distribution of VGD cards to poor and needy women:
Requirement to get VGD card:
(A) Excessive food insecurity means that family members often cannot get food at any time of the day due to lack of food.
(B) Those who have no land or own less than 0.15 acres of land. In this case landless families will get priority.
(C) The condition of the house (tent, fence, door, pillar and drainage) is very poor.
(D) Families who make a living by earning meager income as daily or irregular day laborers and have no definite source of income.
(E) The head of the family is a woman and there is no earning male member or any other source of income.
At the upazila level, VGD women's selection committee was formed and applications were taken from poor women. The application form is sent to the Upazila Committee after verification and selection by the Union Committee. They are again selected by verification and selection. Each month 30 kg of rice is distributed to the beneficiaries through the Union Parishad.
3. Microfinance:
All the associations registered with the Department of Women's Affairs are associations of poor women. Small loans are given to women in this association to support them. This loan has to be repaid in 12 monthly installments with 5% service charge.
4. Backyard meeting on dowry awareness program:
In each union a yard meeting is held once a month with the women of the village.
5. Awareness-raising activities undertaken to prevent trafficking in women and children:
Awareness meetings are held twice a month with village women to prevent trafficking of women and children.
. Prevention of violence against women:
To prevent violence against women, yard meetings are held in any of the two unions every month and women's signatures are taken.
